The use of computers has greatly reduced the time-consuming "housekeeping"
activities and has significantly improved the entire legislative process.
In 1975 one of the first technological reforms was the
installation of an electronic roll call system. Now each roll call vote of the
House is tabulated in 30 seconds.

Votes are a matter of public record. The results are available to not only House
members and the press corps, but everyone else - visit our online
Roll Call System. Another electronic improvement is the
Bill Status System. Before it was installed only patience and
perseverance made it possible to determine the exact status of a bill. Now in
seconds a computer terminal can identify the status of bills, from introduction
to enactment.
