Committees |
| The standing policy committees
of the House are each responsible for specific subject matter. Each committee
holds public hearings on all bills assigned to it, considers the subject matter
and then makes recommendations on the disposition of those bills to the full
House.

Study Committees |

Statutory
study committees are permanent committees described in statute. They often are
advisory to or have some type of oversight function with regard to a particular
area of state government.

Chapter study committees have a limited life-span. They are
created for a specific purpose and often are responsible for recommending
legislation to deal with a particular issue.
