It is the duty of the Committee on Municipal and County Government to consider all matters pertaining to the salaries of town, city and county officers; changes in municipal and county government; the boundary lines of towns, cities and counties; the creation of new towns, cities and counties; local revenue, including fees, property taxes and exemptions; and such other matters as may be referred to it. |

Rep. Patten is serving her sixth term as a member of the House and represents Carroll County District 4 which includes the towns of Moultonborough, Tuftonboro and Worlfeboro. She is chairman of the House Municipal and County Government Committee.
Rep. Patten was born in Newton, Massachusetts and moved to Moultonborough in June 1984, having always "wanted to live at the foot of the White Mountains." In the 60's, Rep. Patten worked at the summer Rumney Bible Conference. She is an advisor to the Cooperative Extension, UNH, Carroll County and is a Master Gardener. She and her husband, Richard, have one daughter, Karen Glover. |

From 1985-90, Rep. Patten served as recording secretary for the Moultonborough Planning Board and was the recording secretary for the Zoning Board of Adjustment during that same period. She is a local ballot clerk, an E911 coordinator and is the membership committee chairman for the Womens' Club. Rep. Patten is also active with the Moultonborough Activities Fund. |

Rep. Patten is chairman of the Carroll County Republican Committee and is also the Area One vice chairman for the Carroll, Coos and Grafton County Republican committees. She is a member of the state??? Executive Committee and in 1998 was a member of the state Republican Platform Committee. |
