It shall be the duty of the Committee on Judiciary to consider all matters relating to the judicial system, right-to-know law, guardianships, life and death (such as abortion or assisted death), landlord/tenant rights, civil proceedings, tort law, forfeiture, immunity, and probate; and such other matters as may be referred to it.

Rep. Berch is a member of the Cheshire County Delegation and is a member of its Executive Committee.
Miscellaneous Information:
A retired public service attorney, his career involved both private practice and Managing Partner/Supervising Attorney for the Windham County (VT) Public Defender Office (1975-2009).

A member of Boards of many social service organizations, Rep. Berch was a consultant to the Governments of Uganda and Zambia regarding content and adoption of their respective Constitutions (1990). He has also served as an Acting Judge and as a volunteer Guardian for the elderly.
