House Committee Information
Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Finance to examine and consider the state of the treasury and the budget; subjects concerning the financial interest of the state; all measures carrying appropriations of state money except claims against the state and such other matters as may be referred to it. Prior to the report of the Finance Committee to the House, the Speaker may refer the budget of certain self-sustaining state agencies to appropriate committees for study and recommendation.

Rep. Huot was born April 4, 1942 to J. Oliva Huot and Irene R. (Fournier) Huot in Laconia. He was educated at Sacred Heart School and Sacred Heart High School. He matriculated at St. Anselm College in Manchester where He received an A.B. degree in business. He earned a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1967. He was associated with the firm of Normandin, Cheney & O'Neil, in Laconia, until 1979 when he was appointed Justice of the Laconia District Court by Governor Hugh J. Gallen. He served in that capacity and as a Senior Active Justice until April 4, 2012.
Rep. Huot served 31 years in the New Hampshire Air National Guard, retiring in September, 1998 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He earned the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Meritorious Service Medal and the New Hampshire National Guard Commendation Medal.
He was elected to the NH House of Representatives in 1970 and served from 1971 to 1975 as a member of the Appropriations Committee and Chairman of the subcommittee on Administration of Justice and Public Protection. He also served as clerk of the Belknap County Convention during that period.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia A. Huot in 2002 and is married to June Marie (Walsh) Huot. Rep. Huot and Patricia had one son, Matthew D. Huot who is associated with the firm of Wescott, Dyer, Fitzgerald and Nichols, of Laconia, and is a captain in the Army Reserve.
