AN ACT relative to same-sex civil unions contracted outside of the state of New Hampshire.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand One
AN ACT relative to same-sex civil unions contracted outside of the state of New Hampshire.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Marriages; Uniform Marriage Recognition Law; Same-Sex Civil Unions Not Recognized in New Hampshire. Amend RSA 457 by inserting after section 44 the following new section:
457:45 Same-Sex Civil Unions. Any civil union legally contracted outside of this state by persons of the same sex and valid in the jurisdiction where contracted shall not be recognized for any purpose in this state.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
