STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

AN ACT prohibiting electro-convulsive therapy on children under 16 years of age.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subdivision; Electro-Convulsive Therapy Prohibited on Children Under Age 16. Amend RSA 151 by inserting after section 31 the following new subdivision:
General Provisions
151:32 Electro-Convulsive Therapy Prohibited on Children Under 16 Years of Age. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, health care facilities required to be licensed under this chapter shall not, under any condition, treat children under 16 years of age with electro-convulsive therapy, insulin shock, or psychosurgery.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
