STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three

AN ACT relative to collective bargaining units at charter schools.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Charter Schools; Employees. Amend RSA 194-B:14, II(b) to read as follows:

(b) [Bargaining units] A teacher at a charter school [shall be separate from other bargaining units] may elect to remain a member of the bargaining unit with which such teacher was affiliated prior to becoming a charter school teacher. A teacher electing this option shall retain all rights and benefits afforded by the previous bargaining unit.

2 Repeal. RSA 194-B:14, II (e), relative to requiring a charter school teacher to withdraw from the teacher's previous bargaining unit, is repealed.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
