STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT relative to the placement of regional electronic toll collection system transponder readers.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Regional Electronic Toll Collection Authorized; Transponder Reader Use Restricted. Amend RSA 237:16-b to read as follows:

237:16-b Regional Electronic Toll Collection Authorized.

I. The commissioner is hereby authorized to execute all documents and perform all other acts necessary to enter into and carry out the provisions of a regional electronic toll collection system agreement with the Interagency Group in order to increase the efficiency of turnpike operation and to improve traffic management in the state and region.

II. Except as provided in RSA 237:16-g, the commissioner is not authorized to use, or allow others to use, regional electronic toll collection transponder readers at any location other than a location for collecting tolls.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
