STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT requiring that first-time driver’s license applicants be informed of and examined on laws relating to blind pedestrians.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Blind Pedestrian Information and Examination. Amend RSA 263 by inserting after section 6-b the following new section:

263:6-c Blind Pedestrian Information and Examination.

I. Before issuing a license to any person who has not been previously licensed to drive a motor vehicle in this state, the department shall inform the applicant of the provisions of RSA 265:41 and other safety issues respecting blind pedestrians.

II. The examination required by RSA 263:6 shall include testing of the applicant’s knowledge of motor vehicle safety respecting blind pedestrians.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
