STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT requiring the commissioner of the department of corrections to adopt procedures establishing a policy on and procedures for an internal clemency board to review and make recommendations on requests for sentence modifications.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

203:1 New Subparagraph; Powers and Duties of Commissioner. Amend RSA 21-H:8, III by inserting after subparagraph (e) the following new subparagraph:

(f) A policy on and procedures for an internal clemency board to review each request for sentence modification pursuant to RSA 651:20 and to provide a recommendation on each request to the sentencing court.

203:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2009.
