STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight

AN ACT relative to the legislative youth advisory council.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

30:1 Duties of the Legislative Youth Advisory Council; Public Forums and Annual Report. Amend RSA 19-K:3, IV and V to read as follows:

IV. Meet no fewer than 4 times per year and conduct 2 public [hearings] forums per year on issues of importance to youth.

V. Communicate with other youth councils.

VI. File an annual report of its activities, including any recommendations for proposed legislation, on or before November 1 of each year with the speaker of the house, the senate president, the governor, the secretary of state, the house clerk, and the state library.

30:2 Legislative Youth Advisory Council; Meetings. Amend RSA 19-K:4, I to read as follows:

I. The council member from the house of representatives shall serve as the co-chair of the council and shall call the first meeting of the council. At the first meeting [of each calendar year] after the August annual seminar, the members shall elect one of the youth members to serve as co-chair for a term of one year.

30:3 Legislative Youth Advisory Council; Records. Amend RSA 19-K:4, V to read as follows:

V. Meetings of the council shall be open to the public, and all records of the council shall be public records. A complete archive of the council’s records shall be kept in the house clerk’s office.

30:4 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
