STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to a replica monument of the Old Man of the Mountain.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Construction of Old Man of the Mountain Monument. Upon the availability of sufficient private funding, a monument to the Old Man of the Mountain and a suitable walking trail leading to the monument shall be constructed on the ledge above the eastern slope of Cannon Mountain in Franconia, the original site of the Old Man of the Mountain. The monument shall be large enough to permit visitors to walk inside, shall be constructed of materials suitable for withstanding the climate at the location, and shall be sited at the location so as to maximize visibility. Funding for construction, maintenance, renovation, and operation of the monument shall be entirely from private gifts, bequests, and donations.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
