AN ACT relative to service in a qualifying war or conflict for purposes of the veterans property tax credit.

ANALYSIS

This bill allows for veterans who served a portion of the 90 days of service in any qualifying war or conflict to qualify for the veterans’ property tax credit. This provision is subject to adoption by towns and cities under RSA 72:27-a.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT relative to service in a qualifying war or conflict for purposes of the veterans property tax credit.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Property Tax Exemption; Veterans; Service in Qualifying War of Conflict. Amend RSA 72:28, IV(a) to read as follows:

(a) Every resident of this state who served not less than 90 days in the armed forces of the United States and any portion of that 90 days was in any qualifying war or armed conflict listed in this section, and who was honorably discharged or an officer honorably separated from service; or the spouse or surviving spouse of such resident;

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect April 1, 2011.
