ANALYSIS

This bill requires that a person’s place and date of birth be in the statewide centralized voter registration database in order for the person to be deemed reregistered at the 10-year verification of the checklist.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT relative to deeming voters reregistered for purposes of verification.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Verification Every 10 Years. Amend RSA 654:39, IV to read as follows:

IV. For the purpose of this section, a person shall be deemed reregistered and need not appear before the supervisors if:

(a)(1) The person voted in any election within the 4 years immediately preceding a 10-year verification; or

[(b)](2) The person has been added to the checklist since the last state general election; and

(b) The statewide centralized voter registration database contains the person’s place and date of birth.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
