STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT prohibiting an electric utility from disconnecting service from a residence or building in which a person is using life-sustaining medical equipment.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Life-Sustaining Medical Equipment. Amend RSA 363-B by inserting after section 3 the following new section:

363-B:4 Life-Sustaining Medical Equipment.

I. No public electric utility shall disconnect electricity to residences or buildings in which any person is using life-sustaining medical equipment.

II. Any electric utility that provides electricity to a residence or building in which any person uses life-sustaining medical equipment shall post a sign outside such residence or building stating that such equipment is in use.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
