STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT requiring the state of New Hampshire to opt out of the requirement that individuals purchase health insurance contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Federal Mandate; State to Opt Out. Pursuant to section 1332 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the commissioner of the department of health and human services shall immediately develop the necessary waiver to allow the state of New Hampshire to opt out of the requirement that individuals purchase health insurance under such Act.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
