This bill requires the joint health care reform oversight committee to determine the “essential benefits” package which will be available to insured persons in the state of New Hampshire under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2009 as amended.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven
AN ACT relative to “essential benefits” under federal health care reform.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Duty Added. Amend RSA 420-N:3 by inserting after paragraph III the following new paragraph:
III-a. In addition to the duties required under paragraph III, the committee shall also determine the “essential benefits” package which will be available to insured persons in the state of New Hampshire under the Act.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AN ACT relative to “essential benefits” under federal health care reform.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Office of Legislative Budget Assistant states this bill, as amended by the Senate (Amendment #2012-0166s), will have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local expenditures or revenue.
METHODOLOGY:
The Office of Legislative Budget Assistant states this bill requires the committee established pursuant to RSA 420-N:3 to determine the “essential benefits” package which will be available to insured persons in the state of New Hampshire under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This bill will have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local expenditures or revenue.
