STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT relative to bridge aid and highway block grants for class V roads in certain village districts.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Village Districts Not Eligible for Road Funds. Amend RSA 231:4 to read as follows:
231:4 Village Districts Not Eligible for Road Funds. Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 231:1 and any other statutes to the contrary, village districts with less than 3 miles of class V public roads shall not be eligible to receive funds pursuant to RSA 235.
2 Duty to Construct and Maintain Bridges; Village Districts. Amend RSA 234:5, I to read as follows:
I. The selectmen of a town, the mayor of a city, [or] the county commissioners for an unincorporated, or the commissioners of village districts with 3 or more miles of class V public roads place may annually apply to the commissioner of transportation in the manner prescribed by the commissioner for bridge aid on a class II, IV, or V highway or a county-owned road. The county commissioners may annually apply to the commissioner of transportation in the manner prescribed by the commissioner for bridge aid for a county-owned bridge.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
