STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT requiring employers to participate in the E-Verify system of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Employment of Illegal Aliens Prohibited; E-Verify. Amend RSA 275-A:4-a to read as follows:
275-A:4-a Employment of Illegal Aliens Prohibited. No employer may employ an alien whom the employer knows is not a citizen of the United States [and not in possession of Form I-151, Alien Registration Receipt Card or any other document issued by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service or the Attorney General of the United States which authorizes him to work]. Employers shall verify employment eligibility through the E-Verify system of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2013.
