AN ACT relative to the filing period for elections.
This bill authorizes the secretary of state to change the filing period for elections if redistricting is not completed.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT relative to the filing period for elections.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
42:1 New Section; Change in Filing Period. Amend RSA 655 by inserting after section 14-b the following new section:
655:14-c Change in Filing Period. Notwithstanding the provisions of RSA 655:14, if the elective districts for any office in RSA 662 have not been amended according to the most recently completed federal decennial census before the commencement of the filing period, the secretary of state is hereby authorized to change or extend the filing period as necessary to implement revised elective districts.
42:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
