STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT requiring new elective transmission lines in New Hampshire to be buried.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Burial of Elective Transmission Lines. Amend RSA 162-H by inserting after section 5 the following new section:
162-H:5-a Burial of Elective Transmission Lines.
I. All elective transmission lines placed in the state after the effective date of this section shall be buried. For the purposes of this section, “elective” means private, for-profit developments that are not required to maintain system reliability.
II. Burial is the preferred option, but not required, for all transmission lines necessary for system reliability that are placed in the state after the effective date of this section.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
