AN ACT relative to establishing a continuing education requirement regarding human trafficking for individuals licensed by the office of professional licensure and certification.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires the office of professional licensure and certification to audit compliance by licensees of continuing education requirements and further provides that all boards regulating health professionals shall require each licensee to complete continuing education in human trafficking each renewal cycle.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to establishing a continuing education requirement regarding human trafficking for individuals licensed by the office of professional licensure and certification.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Office of Professional Licensure and Certification; License Renewals; Lapse.  Amend RSA 310:8, II to read as follows:

II. Licenses shall be valid for 2 years from the date of issuance except for those apprentices licensed for one year in accordance with rules adopted pursuant to 541-A, provided that timely and complete application for license renewal by eligible applicants shall continue the validity of the licenses being renewed until the office has acted on the renewal application.  Each biennium, the office shall audit compliance by licensees of continuing education requirements established by each board pursuant to RSA 541-A; provided, however, that all boards that regulate health professionals shall require licensees to complete at least 2 hours of continuing education in human trafficking each renewal cycle.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
