STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three
AN ACT eliminating the state meat inspection program.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Definitions; Meat Inspection. Amend the introductory paragraph of RSA 427:2 to read as follows:
427:2 Definitions. As used in this [subdivision] chapter, except as otherwise specified, the following terms shall have the following meanings stated below:
2 Exemptions; Meat Inspection. Amend the introductory paragraph of RSA 427:2-a, I to read as follows:
I. The provisions of this [subdivision] chapter requiring inspection of the slaughter of animals and the preparation of the carcasses, parts thereof, meat, and meat food products at establishments conducting such operations shall not apply to:
3 Uninspected Bison; Food Service. Amend RSA 143-A:18 to read as follows:
143-A:18 Definition of Uninspected Bison. For purposes of this subdivision, "uninspected bison" means carcasses, parts, meat, and meat food products of bison slaughtered and processed [in accordance with RSA 427:16, XII] and sold or to be sold as provided in RSA 427:2-a, IV.
4 Repeal. The following are repealed:
I. RSA 427:3 through 427:32-d, relative to the state meat inspection program.
II. RSA 427:2, XIV - XVII, relative to definitions for the state meat inspection program.
III. RSA 427:2, XX, relative to the definition of certified meat inspector.
5 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
