CHAPTER Saf-C 3500 ANTIQUE VEHICLE PLATES
Statutory Authority. RSA 261:89-a and 21-P:14,III(ii).
PART Saf-C 3501 PURPOSE AND DEFINITIONS.
Saf-C 3501.01 Purpose. The purpose of these rules is to set forth the procedures for owners of antique motor cars to use a number plate on the front of an antique motor car which was issued in the same year that the antique motor car was manufactured.

Saf-C 3501.02 Definitions of Terms.
(a) "Antique Motor Car" means "antique motor car" as defined in RSA 259:4.
(b) "Antique Vehicle Plate" means a number plate which was issued in the same year that the antique motor car was manufactured.
(c) "Commissioner" means the commissioner of the New Hampshire department of safety or his designee.
(d) "Department" means the New Hampshire department of safety.
(e) "Director" means the director of the division of motor vehicles of the New Hampshire department of safety.
(f) "Number Plates" means "number plates" as defined in RSA 261:75.
(g) "Permit" means, for the purposes of this chapter, an antique motor car registration certificate with the date of manufacture of an antique motor car affixed to it.

PART Saf-C 3502 APPLICATION PROCESS
Saf-C 3502.01 Requirements For Antique Vehicle Plate Use.
(a) In order to use an antique vehicle plate on an antique motor car, the owner shall insure that the following requirements have been met:
(1) The date of manufacture of the antique motor car shall be 1942 or earlier;
(2) The owner shall possess a valid antique motor car registration certificate pursuant to Saf-C 3504.01;
(3) The owner shall obtain a permit pursuant to Saf-C 3502.02; and
(4) The number of the antique plate shall be recorded with the director, pursuant to Saf-C 3502.02(b)(2).

Saf-C 3502.02 Permit.
(a) The owner of an antique motor car shall provide the director with:
(1) The date of manufacture of the antique motor car; and
(2) The number of the antique vehicle plate being displayed pursuant to Saf-C 3503.01.
(b) Once the owner has provided the information in paragraph (a), the director shall:
(1) Issue a permit to the owner; and
(2) Record the number of the antique vehicle plate, pursuant to RSA 261:89-a.

PART Saf-C 3503 DISPLAY OF ANTIQUE VEHICLE PLATES
Saf-C 3503.01 Display.
(a) An antique vehicle plate shall be attached to the front of the antique motor car in place of the regular antique number plate, pursuant to RSA 261:89-a.
(b) The regular antique number plate issued by the department shall remain attached to the back of the antique motor car, pursuant to RSA 261:89-a.

PART Saf-C 3504 REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION
Saf-C 3504.01 Registration.
(a) An antique motor car displaying an antique vehicle plate pursuant to Saf-C 3503.01 shall be registered pursuant to Saf-C 500.
(b) An antique motor car registered under Saf-C 3504.01(a) shall be considered legally registered in the state of New Hampshire.

Saf-C 3504.02 Inspection. An antique motor car displaying an antique vehicle plate shall not be rejected during its inspection by any New Hampshire inspection station, pursuant to RSA 266:1, because it is displaying an antique vehicle plate, consistent with these rules.
