It shall be the duty of the Committee on Ways and Means to examine and consider the state of the treasury; to consider and report on all bills and resolutions relating to raising money by a state tax and the apportionment of same; matters relating to taxes and fees on tobacco; all dedicated funds except for the highway and turnpike funds; state fees, and all methods of raising revenue for the state; and such other matters as may be referred to it. The Committee on Ways and Means shall report to the House in the form of a resolution its estimates of state revenues on a periodic basis.

14th term as a member of the House
Represented Lebanon in the NH House for 28 years and worked on revenues, budgets, condominium and homeowner association law, substance abuse, and the revenue aspects of many other issues

Rep. Almy worked on the conservation commission and affordable housing mostly at the local and regional level, but also state. She cares deeply about the dangers of global warming and have participated in those issues personally and somewhat at the state level. Trained as an economic philanthropist, evaluated Latin American rural and agricultural projects for 4 years for a New York foundation, taught economic research methods for master's students and oversaw a Northeast Brazilian University rural development project for 6 years and overall worked onsite for 22 years in rural and agricultural development in Africa and Latin America before invalidating home.

Rep. Almy is also a member of:
the Lebanon Conservation Commission
the Lebanon Steering Committee on the Implementation of the Master Plan and on the Airport Advisory Commission (both dissolved)
12 years each on the Upper Valley Housing Coalition (dissolved) and Grafton County executive committee. Now 4 years in semi-attached Housing First Group of Housing Advocates and Builders.
Miscellaneous Information:
Five-year hiatus after becoming a chair for the first time, spent 22 years as president-manager of 22-unit homeowners association. Immediate family has shrunk to sister and brother-in-law, nephews and their children.
