AN ACT relative to contracts between public adjusters and the insured.

This bill provides that a property insurance policy shall not prohibit the insured from hiring a public adjuster.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to contracts between public adjusters and the insured.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Public Adjusters; Contract Between Insurer and Insured.  Amend RSA 402-D by inserting after section 13 the following new section:

402-D:13-a  Contract Between Insurer and Insured.  An insurer shall not include a policy provision in any policy of property insurance that prohibits an insured from hiring a public adjuster for services provided pursuant to the provisions of this title.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
