STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to prohibiting certain deductions from wages of restaurant employees.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Withholding of Wages.  Amend RSA 275:48 by inserting after paragraph I the following new paragraph:

I-a.  No employer shall withhold or divert any portion of an employee's wages because a restaurant customer left the restaurant without paying their bill.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
