NOTE:

 

            The Department of Cultural Affairs was established effective 6-5-90 pursuant to 1990, 73:1 from the former Department of Libraries, Arts, and Historical Resources. All effective rules of the former department numbered Lib, Art, and Res-H were continued under the new Department of Cultural Affairs.

 

            All rules numbered Art, originally adopted by the Commission on the Arts, expired 12-23-89. All rules numbered Res-H governing the Division of Historical Resources expired 2-21-91. After 6-28-94, only rule Lib 302.06 was still effective.

            Pursuant to 1998, 363:3, effective 8-25-98, the Department was renamed the Department of Cultural Resources.  See rules under subtitle Cul-H for rules governing the Division of Historical Resources.

 

NOTE:

 

      The Department of Cultural Resources was abolished pursuant to 2017, 156:37, LIV, effective 7-1-17, which repealed RSA 21-K.  The Department of Resources and Economic Development was abolished pursuant to 2017, 156:15, effective 7-1-17, which amended the establishment clause RSA 12-A:1 to delete the reference to the Department of Resources and Economic Development and establish the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.  Various other sections in 2017, 156, effective 7-1-17, either amended other statutes besides RSA 12-A:1 to refer to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, or they repealed statutes which had referred to the Department of Resources and Economic Development or the Department of Cultural Resources.

 

      Pursuant to 2017, 156:15, effective 7-1-17, which amended RSA 12-A:1, all functions of the former Department of Cultural Resources were transferred to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. All functions, powers, and duties of the Division of Libraries, the Division of Arts, and the Division of Historical Resources of the Department of Cultural Resources were transferred pursuant to 2017, 156:27, effective 7-1-17, from the Department of Cultural Resources to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.  There were no existing rules numbered “Cul” of the Department of Cultural Resources by 7-1-17, only those numbered “Cul-H” for the Department’s Division of Historical Resources.
