The Mechanical Licensing Board was established pursuant to 2013, 275:6,
effective July 1, 2013, as a unit within the Division of Fire Safety of the
Department of Safety. See RSA
153:27-a. Pursuant to 2013, 275:7-8,
effective July 1, 2013, the Board
has its own rulemaking authority under RSA 153:28 and RSA 153:29 to adopt
rules, but with the approval of the Commissioner of the Department of Safety.)
Pursuant to 2013, 275:14, I, existing
rules of the former State Board for the Licensing and Regulation of Plumbers
were transferred to the Mechanical Licensing Board and continued to be
effective until “amended, replaced, superseded, or repealed” by the Mechanical
Licensing Board in Saf-C 100-500 in 2015 and Saf-C 600 in 2016 as noted below.

NOTE:
Pursuant to 2021, 91:82, effective 7-1-21,
which amended RSA 153:27-a, the Mechanical Licensing Board was transferred from
being a unit within the Division of Fire Safety of the Department of Safety to
a unit within the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. The Board
still has its own rulemaking authority under RSA 153:28 and RSA 153:29 to adopt
rules, but with the approval of the Commissioner of the Department of Safety.
Existing rules numbered “Saf-Mec” will eventually be
renumbered as “Mec.”
