501 DEFINITIONS
Gen 501.01 Definitions. The following terms shall have the following
meanings:
(a)
"National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC)" means the
national professional organization of genetic counselors.

502 ETHICAL STANDARDS

502.01 Ethical Standards for Genetic
Counselors. The ethical standards
for genetic counselors shall be the NSGC code of ethics adopted in January of
1992 and revised April 2017,
available as stated in Appendix B, with the modifications described in Gen
502.02.

502.02 Modifications of the NSGC Code
of Ethics. Modifications to the NSGC
code of ethics shall be as follows:
(a) The exclusion of the preamble to the NSGC
code of ethics;
(b) The deletion of “work to” at the end of the first paragraph in Section I, II, and
III and replacing with “shall”; and
(c) The deletion of Section IV: Genetic
Counselors and Society.

5. The Board modified the text in the
following whys which is described in the rule:
(a) Excluded the preamble;
(b)
Deleted “strive to” at the end of the first paragraph in Section I, II,
and II and replaced it with “shall”; and
(c)
Deleted Section IV: Genetic counselors and Society.
