STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

A RESOLUTION urging support of the dignity through prosperity act.

Whereas, the New Hampshire House of Representatives recognizes the importance of promoting the well-being and dignity of all its residents, including those facing long-term health challenges; and

Whereas, the "Dignity Through Prosperity Act" (hereinafter referred to as the "Act") is a legislative proposal at the federal level aimed at improving the lives and economic prospects of individuals with permanent health conditions; and

Whereas, the Act seeks to extend lifetime design patent terms to individuals who are "eternally embrittled" due to permanent health conditions, providing them with the opportunity for long-term financial stability; and

Whereas, the Act aligns the protection of aesthetic, non-functional aspects of useful articles with the principles of fairness and equity, similar to copyright protection; and

Whereas, the Act includes provisions to minimize reliance on public assistance and prevent potential abuse of government programs; and

Whereas, the Act represents a significant step toward enhancing the quality of life and economic security for those with enduring health challenges; now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives that:

The New Hampshire House of Representatives hereby expresses its strong support for the "Dignity Through Prosperity Act" and recognizes its potential to improve the lives and economic well-being of individuals with permanent health conditions in New Hampshire; and

The House of Representatives directs the New Hampshire Federal Delegation to actively support and advocate for the passage of the "Dignity Through Prosperity Act" in the United States Congress, to ensure that its provisions benefit the residents of New Hampshire.
