STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three

 

A RESOLUTION relative to the Internal Revenue Service.

 

Whereas, the Internal Revenue Service serves the sovereign people of New Hampshire; and

Whereas, the former commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, Sheldon Cohen, has said that the word "income" is not defined anywhere in the Internal Revenue Code; and

Whereas, average Americans do not exercise a federal privilege; and

Whereas, numerous Internal Revenue Service publications, directors, members of the United States Congress, among others, have stated that the income tax is "voluntary"; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the sovereign people of New Hampshire demand that the Internal Revenue Service answer the following questions within 60 days of the passage of this resolution:

I.  Where is the word "income" defined in the Internal Revenue Code?

II.  Where in the Internal Revenue Code is it written that the average American, who does not exercise a federal privilege but simply trades their time for money, is liable to pay the federal income tax?

III.  Why have numerous Internal Revenue Service publications, directors, and members of the United States Congress, among others, stated that the income tax is "voluntary"?

IV.  That signed copies of this resolution be transmitted by the house clerk to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, to the United States Secretary of the Treasury, and to each member of New Hampshire Congressional delegation.
