He is the current Speaker of the NH House, having been elected on Nov. 30, 2017 to fill out the term of Speaker Shawn Jasper who was confirmed as the Commissioner of the NH Department of Agriculture. He also served as the Speaker of the House from 2001-2004 He has served in several key leadership positions during his previous terms, including Deputy House Majority Leader (1997-98); House Majority Leader (1999-2000); Houise Republican Policy Leader (2006-08); Senior House Republican Leader (2008-10 and 2013-14); Speaker Pro Tempore (2011-13);

Rep. Chandler is a member of the Long Range Capital Planning and Utilization Committee.
Local Government Involvement
Rep. Chandler has served as chairman of the Bartlett Board of Selectmen for 21 years and has been a board member for 41 years. He is also a former town and school district moderator, past president of the North Conway Country Club, and former chairman of the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Educational Foundation.
Miscellaneous Information:
Rep.Chandler is in the real estate, land and timber business. He and his late wife, Nancy, were married for more than 30 years. He is the father of two grown sons and a proud grandfather of four. He enjoys spending time following his grandchildren in both the Arts and Sports.
