STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT prohibiting spending of special education moneys for any other purpose and requiring reporting of fund balances to the school board.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Funds to be Used Only for Special Education Purposes.  Amend RSA 186-C by inserting after section 13 the following new section:

186-C:13-a  Funds to be Used Only for Special Education Purposes.  Moneys in special education line items in a school district budget shall not be used for any purpose other than special education.  The school district shall annually report the total fund balance, and the total cost of special education line items on or before October 1.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect April 1, 2024.
