STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four
AN ACT relative to motorist duties when approaching highway emergencies involving a disabled vehicle.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Motorist Duties; Approaching Disabled Vehicles. Amend RSA 265:37-a, I(d) to read as follows:
(d) Give a wide berth, without endangering oncoming traffic, to public safety personnel, any persons in the roadway, and vehicles displaying blue, red, or amber emergency or warning lights[.] or a disabled vehicle, meaning a vehicle that is in a traffic lane or on the side of a traffic lane that a reasonable person would conclude is disabled or that is using flashing lights to warn other operators of the vehicle's presence.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
